Tutorial 1: Problems and solutions for marking marks on galvanized steel

Surface preparation prior to galvanizing does not remove some marking products.
Zinc does not catch on marked surfaces, causing defects.

Let’s compare a steel marked with Ecrimetal, a steel with traces of paint, an unmarked steel.
After surface preparation and galvanization, observe the results:
– There are defects on the surface marked with Ecrimetal
– There are defects on the surface marked by the paint
– There is no defect on the unmarked surface.

For optimum results, the pieces should not be marked with either Ecrimetal or paint.

So what to do?

After several tests in the laboratory, we selected 3 markers compatible with galvanization. After treatment and galvanization, they leave no trace on the metal.
