Powder coating with cataphoresis

SPECIFICATION SHEET N°3

STANDARD SPECIFICATION FOR A COATING CONSISTING OF:
• ANTICORROSION TREATMENT BY CATAPHORESIS
• DECOZINC FINISHING WITH POLYESTER POWDER COATING
(This procedure is suited to ironwork with precision machining such as doors, windows, perforated sheets etc.)

SURFACE TREATMENT OF STEEL CONSISTS OF:

A – Anticorrosion treatment by cataphoresis
The company will carry out, on steel that is free of any oxidation, the following operations:
1- Degreasing
2- Rinsing
3- Refining
4- Phosphating
5- Rinsing
6- Epoxy cataphoresis
7- Rinsing
8- Polymerization according to manufacturer’s instructions
The thickness of the film applied will be 20 +/- 4 microns.

B – Powder coating finish

1- Electrostatic application of an architectural grade thermosetting powder
2- Polymerization 180/200°C
3- Checks
4- Packaging
The process must be the subject of a Quality Assurance scheme.

C – A procedure that incorporates traceability

The powder coating procedure must be able to be checked a posteriori.
Traceability should include at the least a sample plate and a summary of the main production parameters.

D – The delivery of a guarantee
The anticorrosion + powder coating combination must be guaranteed by an Anticorrosion and Adhesion insurance. (Certificate of Insurance to be supplied)
- Anticorrosion Guarantee required :
10 years without reaching Re 3 on the European Rust Scale
- Resistance/Adhesion Guarantee required:
10 years (7 + 3 years format) with an intervention threshold of 5%

E – Compliance with regulations
Procedures must:
Comply with NFP 24-351
Be carried out by a “Thermolacier” certified company
Comply with suppliers' recommendations for products used
