DECOZINC powder coating after galvanization

SPECIFICATION SHEET N°1

STANDARD SPECIFICATION FOR A COATING CONSISTING OF:
•  ANTICORROSION TREATMENT BY GALVANIZATION
•  DECOZINC FINISHING WITH POLYESTER POWDER COATING
(This procedure is particularly suited to roof structures, railings, street furniture etc.)

SURFACE TREATMENT OF STEEL CONSISTS OF:
 
A – Anticorrosion treatment by galvanization
The ISO 9001 certified company will carry out:
1- On steel meeting the NFA 35503 Class 1 or 2 standard
2- On articles designed according to the NF EN ISO 14713 standard
3- A galvanization in compliance with EN ISO 1461
4- A thorough finishing process to remove any defects
 
The galvanization process must be the subject of a Quality Assurance scheme
 
B – Powder coating finish
 
The company will carry out the following operations:
1– Degreasing + chemical stripping
2- 2 rinses with mains water
3– 2 rinses with demineralised water
4- Drying, degassing 220/240°C
5- Conversion coating
6- Electrostatic application of an architectural grade powder
7– Polymerization 180/200°C
8- Checks
9- Packaging
The process must be the subject of a Quality Assurance scheme.
The articles must be free of pin holing.
 
C – A procedure that incorporates traceability
 
The powder coating procedure must be able to be checked a posteriori .
Traceability should include at the least a sample plate and a summary of the main production parameters.
 
D – The delivery of a guarantee
The anticorrosion + powder coating combination must be guaranteed by an Anticorrosion and Adhesion insurance. (Certificate of Insurance to be supplied)
- Anticorrosion Guarantee required :
10 years without reaching Re 3 on the European Rust Scale
- Resistance/Adhesion Guarantee required:
10 years (7 + 3 years format) with an intervention threshold of 5%
 
E – Compliance with regulations
Procedures must:
Comply with NFP 24-351
Be carried out by a “Thermolacier” certified company
Comply with suppliers' recommendations for products used
