Powder paint

Definition : Powder paint

There is a difference between "liquid paints" and " powder paints" :

Various kinds of organic coatings may be applied to galvanized surfaces. In practice these are either solvent or water based liquid paints, or powder paints.

In all cases organic coatings should be applied immediately after the preparation of the galvanized surface.

GALVA UNION uses powder paint for a technique known as powder coating.

Powder coatings are often applied to hot-dip galvanized steel with an electrostatic spray gun. The powder paint is electrically charged as it leaves the gun. The article to be covered is earthed and so attracts the charged paint particles. The article then passes into a curing oven where the powder first melts and then hardens.
